A Green deal for young people

Young people in St Helens are being offered the chance to supplement their studies or add valuable work experience to their CVs.

St Helens Green Party is offering a wide range of volunteering roles to young people aged 16 or over who want to make a difference to their town and borough.

Opportunities include research, media and communications, website and social media, administration and even video production. Practical guidance will come from party members from various professional backgrounds.

St Helens Green Party spokeswoman Susan Rahman explains:

“We’re looking for people who share our values, which can be found online, and who can benefit themselves either academically or vocationally from working with us. We will match roles to interests and skills.

“St Helens faces many challenges. Many people are concerned about the town centre, jobs, energy prices, house values, derelict land and a dysfunctional local democracy that breeds apathy and contempt. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we’re determined to build a better St Helens.”
